Ruth's bronzes at her home-studio..

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting with Ruth at her home, where I enjoyed some wonderful coffee! It is then, that I saw her more "personal" bronze collection. Her speciality is exploring the female torso in it’s many complexities. If the names are any indication, these bronzes are named, Amazons, Diana, Venus.. and are very impressive! She has a very unique style of sculpturing, very interesting! These bronzes are not in public display, as, [in her own word's] I am aware of how hysterical some viewers become when face with genitalia in a public place...

Then we went to her new studio .. [Ruth should provide me with information on it's location, somewhere in Lincoln Park].. and I saw more of her recent works..







But the best part of the day was seeing her latest work "Whirling Dervish" in progress. When completed, it would be about 25 feet tall and be placed inn an outdoor pavilion in front of a Church and 4 story building. It's Ruth's participation in the "2010 — ArtPrize" at Grand Rapids, Michigan..
