Lincoln Park [Brotherhood - by Egon Weiner]

Location: St. Joseph Hospital Offices,
northwest corner of Diversey Parkway and Sheridan Road..
From the book, A Guide to Chicago's Public Sculpture.. by Ira J. Bach and Mary Lackritz Gray..
Two identical bronze groups of four human figures are on either side of the entrance of the building. The kneeling figures whose extended arms are intertwined represent unity of people of Europe, Asia, Africa and N. America..
Each grouping bears a different set of inscriptions..
Brotherhood, Liberty, Tolerance and Equality.. [on one side]
Peace and Unity, Justice, Friendship and Knowledge [on the other side]

I have the privilege to work in this building for twenty years and often saw these sculptures not knowing anything about them! They are beautiful.
