DuSable Harbor Building -II
DuSable Harbor Building..
Architect: David Woodhouse
David Woodhouse other works include..
- Visitor pavilions at Buckingham Fountain..
- Rainbow Park Beach House.
The DuSable Harbor Building serves a privately managed Chicago Park District harbor.. The building has a harbor office, locker rooms and showers for boaters, a public restroom, a retail shop with limited boating supplies.
The building has some striking colors.. cheerful yellow and soothing blue..The roof canopy and the sliding doors are bright yellow, whereas the windows have water-blue color glass..
The building is energy-efficient, the first Chicago Park District building to earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council..
The bridge is a part of the 18-mile Lakefront Bike Track.. which had to be moved west to avoid crossing of boaters and bikers..
The building is so tucked away in the landscape, it's part of it. It will probably take a second look to spot the building from this image..
