| From the Tropics, with Love From the Tropics, with Love - by Pedro y Juana Location: Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) 220 E Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60611 Mexico based architecture firm Pedro y Juana created the site-specific installation for the Commons, at MCA. From the Tropics with Love installation includes an urban garden consisting of 221 planters and lamps, hardy indoor plants, a collapsible stage, and a suit of multifunctional furniture that can be dismantled and stored on the wall. The Commons - An area located on the Second Floor at MC It places artistic and civic exchange at the heart of the museum. Everything that happens within this space is meant to encourage formal and inflrmal dialogue as well as interaction among artists, visitors and communities. |
