Good art in public places is one of the hallmarks of a great city. Here are images of sculptures, monuments, memorials, murals, reliefs, fountains and amenities at public places in Chicago... A Blog dedicated to the Sculpture Community of Chicago... Past, Present and Future...

I am trying to find out the current location of a Hibbard sculpture of a boy holding a large fish with another boy standing next to him, pointing at the fish. The models for the sculpture were William and John Stevens, and the sculpture was first displayed at the Stevens Hotel in Chicago. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I found an article written in the late 1980s that said Justice John Paul Stevens had the sculpture. I wonder if he still does? It would make sense, since he is one of the boys who posed for it.
The fountain figure of John and William Stevens that was made for the Stevens Hotel is with the recently retired Supreme Court Justice at his residence outside Wash.DC. I have a snapshot of him standing next to it. We're cousins and F.C.Hibbard is my grandfather. The pictures you posted of the "Garden Girl" figure are wonderful. Thanks for doing it.
I hadn't looked at this section of Jyoti's website for some years, and so I just see that Todd Mikesell asked me if I would post a picture of the snapshot I mentioned above, of John Paul Stevens standing next to the sculpture of him and his older brother Bill Stevens. The picture was taken on the little balcony of the condo he had several years ago. I can't post the picture here. All pictures on Jyoti's website are by her. And don't want the picture on any public website. I could send a jpeg in an email to Todd Mikesell, with the understanding that it is only for his personal viewing.

Hi Scotti,
Thanks for your comment.
Unfortunately I have no idea of the sculpture you asked about.
Will greatly appreciate if anyone answers.

Scotti,
You really got me curious.
Wish I knew the answer.
